Option
- The YIELD TO THE BLIND (NYR9-6) sign may be used where it is deemed necessary to remind motorists of the requirements of Section 1151 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Guidance
- The use of the YIELD TO THE BLIND sign should be limited to intersections and crosswalks frequently used by blind or visually impaired persons. Where used, the sigh should be placed immediately in advance of, or immediately beyond, the intersection or crosswalk. On one-way roadways, a second sign should be placed on the left side of the roadway, either on the near or far side of the crossing location.
