Section 2B.23 Advance Intersection Lane Control Signs
Option
Advance Intersection Lane Control (R3-8, R3-8a, R3-8b, and NYR3-51 through NYR3-67) signs may be used to indicate the configuration of all lanes ahead.
The THRU TRAFFIC LEFT LANE (NYR3-33) and THRU TRAFFIC USE RIGHT LANE (NYR3-35) signs may be used to supplement other regulatory signs on intersection approaches with two or more lanes where added positive guidance is desirable. The THRU TRAFFIC USE CENTER LANE (NYR3-34) sign may be used to supplement other regulatory signs on intersection approaches with three lanes.
Guidance
Where used, Advance Intersection Lane Control (R3-8 Series and NYR3-33 through NYR3-67) signs should be ground mounted.
Where a NYR3-34 sign or a NYR3-35 sign is used in conjunction with a NYR3-31 sign, the NYR3-34 sign or NYR3-35 sign should follow the NYR3-31 sign. Where a NYR3-33 sign or a NYR3-34 sign is used in conjunction with a NYR3-32 sign, the NYR3-33 sign or NYR3-34 sign should follow the NYR3-32 sign.
