Spinner Type Tensioner Tool

The spinner type tensioner tool is used for tensioning stainless steel strapping around poles and piping. It features a spring loaded gripper lever for more efficient strap handling and the cut-off handle is vinyl coated for a more comfortable operation. It also has a built-in cutter to remove the excess strapping. It will tension up to 2400 lbs. and accommodates ¼″ to ¾″ wide strapping with band thicknesses of .020″ to .030″. The tool weighs 4 lbs., is 10" long and has an arm length of 5″.

Installation

1. Measure out enough stainless-steel strapping to go around the pole including an extra 12″ or so of slack.
2. Insert one end of the strapping into your straight leg sign mounting bracket.
3. Insert the same end into your buckle or wing seal and bend about 2″ to 3″ of strapping underneath the wing seal or buckle.
4. Wrap the strapping around the pole and slide the other end of the strapping through the buckle or wing seal and bend it back so that the strapping stays in place.
5. Tighten the strapping down with the strapping tool, making sure that the tool is against the wing seal or buckle during this step.
6. Once the strapping is tight, bend the strapping with the tool to hold the tension and use the cutter to cut off the excess strapping.
7. Fold the excess strapping over the buckle or wing seal and hammer down the wings to secure the strapping.
8. Repeat these steps to install the second band of strapping.
